Elm tree populations have been decimated in much of North America. Alberta contains the world largest population of Dutch Elm Disease (DED) free elms.
Because of this amazing accomplishment, there is a provincial elm pruning ban from April 1 to September 30 to help protect elm trees from the spread of Dutch elm disease (DED). During this time, elm bark beetles are active and are attracted to the smell of fresh cuts if pruning is done, these beetles can carry the disease to healthy trees and quickly kill them.
The team at Rooted Tree Solutions understand these regulations and work within them to keep your property compliant and your trees healthy. Whether it’s scheduling proper seasonal pruning, safely removing hazardous or infected elms, or ensuring correct disposal, we handle the process professionally so you don’t have to worry about fines or the risk of spreading disease.
